Addiction & Online Support Groups

Personal Injury

Let’s talk about one of the most serious threats that I’ve seen to people I’ve worked with with traumatic brain injuries; and that is addiction.

Help Your Loved One With Addiction

Over the years, the people that I’ve helped, unfortunately, experienced a lot of struggle with addiction. That happens for a variety of reasons, which we can talk about on another day. But today, I want to talk about a way to help. It’s a pretty simple thing to do. But it really takes a big step in order to do it. And that is meetings, going to support group meetings. What I’ve seen is that that can be incredibly helpful. And in fact, it can make all of the difference in the world for somebody who is struggling with addiction to alcohol or narcotics.

Modern Ways To Access Help

One of the best things about technology these days is that there are meetings, support group meetings, all over the United States and all over the world that somebody can attend by simply having a device, a computer, a laptop. And what I’ve seen is that every hour or every half hour, there are support groups that are available, for example, on Alcoholics Anonymous or AA that go on that somebody who wants to get into recovery can attend by simply clicking on a Zoom link or a Skype link.

Connect From Anywhere

There’s one particular website that I’ve seen be helpful. And that is aa-intergroup.org. That’s aa-intergroup.org. And on this website, about every day or so for the next few days, if you want, somebody can go on there and scroll down and pick a meeting at any time and just hop on. And what you’ll find is there are other people that are there to support and grow with the person who is struggling with addiction. And so I wanted to throw that out there to encourage anybody who might hear this and either be struggling with addiction themselves or have a loved one that’s struggling with addiction to get on to this website or find a support group online. And it can happen any time, anywhere. Like I said, I’ve heard of support groups as far away as Australia, coast to coast in the United States.

If you have any questions for yourself or for a loved one, feel free to message me privately and we can talk a little bit further about it.
