Meet Chris R. Brasure

Founder of Brasure Law Firm | Licensed in Texas & Colorado

Attorney Chris R. Brasure founded Brasure Law Firm, PLLC in 2006 after gaining experience in both civil litigation and criminal prosecution. Over the course of his career, he has represented clients in complex civil and criminal matters, tried numerous cases before juries, and developed the courtroom experience that now informs his work representing seriously injured individuals and families.

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and speech communication from Baylor University and his law degree from Baylor University School of Law.

Following law school, Chris began his legal career as a litigation associate with a Dallas law firm, where his work included insurance bad-faith claims, product liability, general negligence, and other civil litigation matters.

In 2005, he joined the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney and was promoted to felony prosecutor within seven months. His experience as a prosecutor gave him extensive courtroom experience and a valuable perspective on how cases are investigated, prepared, challenged, and presented before a jury.

Throughout his career, Chris has tried dozens of jury trials. His experience spans serious criminal matters as well as complex civil litigation. In a notable civil case in the 430th District Court, he secured an $846,863.32 verdict involving claims of fiduciary misconduct and breach of contract.

Today, Chris focuses primarily on representing individuals and families affected by serious personal injuries, including wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and other negligence-related matters.

His work has also included professional leadership, legal writing, and presentations. Chris has served in leadership roles within the legal community and has written and presented on subjects including grand jury proceedings, fiduciary and professional liability, and preservation of error.

Chris brings that combination of litigation experience, courtroom preparation, and personal attention to Brasure Law Firm’s clients in the Rio Grande Valley and Southwest Colorado.
