3 Signs of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)

Blog

How To Know If You’re Loved One Has A TBI

The first one is memory problems, which include forgetting things that just occurred or even things that the person should never forget. The second is confusion when attempting normal tasks, such as counting change or traveling somewhere in their vehicle. The third is irritability which is very common for somebody who doesn’t understand what is going on and doesn’t realize that they have a traumatic brain injury.

A few years ago, there was a young man that my law firm was able to help. He first came to me with issues that stemmed from being horribly burned in an industrial accident. While everyone was focused on healing his burns, this young man, unfortunately, got a divorce and had to move back in with his parents.

One day he took his parents to the grocery store and he decided to wait for his parents to finish shopping and then he would take them home. Well, after a few minutes of waiting for his parents while they were in the grocery store, he drove back home because he forgot that his parents were in the grocery store. When they came out to the parking lot, he was gone and they could not figure out why.

Where To Turn To For Help

As I started to hear this, fortunately, we were able to get him in touch with some medical professionals who diagnosed him with a traumatic brain injury, and were able to help explain exactly what was going on, not just to him but to his family members and his loved ones who were trying to help him. These medical professionals were able to help everyone, including the traumatic brain injury victim, cope with what was going on.

If that’s something that you or a loved one is starting to experience and witness in real life, feel free to join our Facebook group or download the information that we have that might be able to help guide you through this process. You can also email me and I’d be happy to give you my honest opinion about what is going on and if there is some direction we can point you in.
